Yesterday, me and Dar went to watch the preview for The Myth (starring Jackie Chan, Tony Leung, Kim Hee-Seon and Mallika Sherawat). Aunt Susie gave me the preview tickets cos she wasn't able to make it. Anyway, we went to watch it Lido Orchard.
Dar has been saying how much he wanted to watch this movie, so perfect timing for the free tickets... (Heehee) I wasn't so keen cos I was thinking it must be another action film by Jackie Chan.
It was a pretty interesting show. Abit confusing cos it shuffles between the Qin dynasty and the modern day. Jackie is an archeologist and Tony is an ambitious scientist in the modern day. Tony wanted to do research about anti-gravity and so got Jackie to help him using his knowledge in archeology. The duo adventure only leads them to greater discovery in Chinese history. Their journey starts at Desar, India, where they stumble upon an ancient sword from the Qin dynasty and a magical gemstone that appears to be able to defy the force of gravity. The booty not only leads them to the mythical mausoleum, but it also connects Jackie to his dark past life...
Watch it with a light heart as this is a fantasy show... Great visual effects... Not a much watch though...

:: Jand Jand is sick ::
My poor Baby Jand Jand fell sick...
This is the 2nd time she make me cry...
We took her out on Friday evening for a jog... We got home around 8pm and she took her dinner... Everything was fine till around 9.30pm, she puke. She puke all that she had taken for lunch and dinner... It was so scary... After that she behave normally... Still running around and kpo-ing... (hahaha). Thought of bringing her to the vet the next morning, she look ok to us on Saturday morning... Then at night when we got home around 11 plus, she started to puke again... She started looking sick, not as inquisitive as ever. We thought it may be she is tired after the Friday run. Sunday morning, she is still eating normally but was quite lazy to move around. Then around 8 plus at night, Daddy call me and say Jand is not eating her dinner... I was so panic... I'm outside with Dar, Jeff and Clarice... I quickly rush home with Dar to bring her to Mt Pleasant Animal Clinic... While on the way, I pray that Jand will be alright... Though she came into our family for only 7 months, she is already the baby of the family...
She look at me with her innocent eyes when the doctor took her temperature and stool sample. She was diagnosed with Amoeba parasites. Some stupid parasites she may have pick up from contaminated water or food when we are outside... Antibiotics was given and she is supposed to take it for 14 days. Then came the bill... It was $117... I thought I heard $170 and I know that the consultation fee is $100 so that bottle of antibiotics cost $70!!! The antibiotics cost $5, the other $12 is for laboratory test for her stool...
Now she is taking her medicine and feeling much better... But she lost so much weight... It hurts me to see her sick and lost weight... I'm not gonna let her be a 'vacuum cleaner' and lick up contaminated water when she is outside... I can't afford this kind of heart attack...

:: Fatal accident along Sims Avenue ::
I was on my way home after school. It was very late as we stayed back for discussion on our Marcom project. I took a cab home, it was around 11.10pm. To my surprise, I got a cab easily outside Paradiz Centre. Travel along Little India via Lavender and soon I was along Geylang. Traffic was really slow. Although the traffic may be slow at times especially with those cars parking by the side and their owners buying durians. It was so slow, I was stuck in the jam for approximately half an hour.
Saw red and blue lights in front, a police car. The taxi driver told me there is an accident in front that explains the crawling traffic. Thinking that it could be just a minor accident whereby usually the injured only have some abrasions. That is not the case. I saw a body. Lying on the road. I was taken aback. Although the body was already covered with a white piece of cloth, I can still see the leg sticking out. The decease is a man, he is wearing a pair of sport shoes. It is the first time I see a fatal accident. The man was hit by a big truck. Headlight of the truck was smashed. I saw the driver of the truck. He too, stood there in a daze. He look lost.
I went home. Still in a daze. If the decease is a local, imagine his family receiving the news of his death right after midnight, how would they feel? If the decease is a foreign worker, his family back in his hometown receive the news, how would they feel too? He came all the way to Singapore, wanting to earn more money so that he can provide a better life to his family back home. Yet, this had to happen to him.
2 days later, it was reported in the news. A small one in Straits Times. It was a 66 year old man. No further report was made. The police are asking for witness to come forward.
